Technologies

Aspiri Primary School is equipped with cutting-edge technology to support and enhance education. Students have access to a range of tools to amplify their learning across curriculum areas, including interactive whiteboards, iPads, and various robotics. Additionally, we offer students the opportunity to participate in the LEGO League, which helps them develop skills in problem-solving and teamwork. These technologies provide opportunities for students to engage in innovative and interactive learning, enhancing their access to information and contemporary educational practices.

At Aspiri Primary, technology is integrated throughout the curriculum, with classroom teachers embedding both Digital Technologies and Design Technologies. Students explore a variety of physical and digital resources to build their knowledge and skills in:

  • Understanding digital systems
  • Using and manipulating data
  • Coding
  • Working online and digitally
  • The role of technologies in society
  • Engineering, materials, food, and fibre production
  • Problem-solving
  • Designing, producing, and evaluating solutions

In addition to our focus on technological skills, we place a strong emphasis on Digital Literacy (formerly ICT capabilities). This encompasses five key elements:

  • Practising digital safety and wellbeing
  • Communicating and collaborating
  • Investigating
  • Creating
  • Managing and operating

As students develop their technological skills, these capabilities are applied across subjects, enhancing their engagement and supporting deeper learning.

Aspiri Primary School is committed to delivering future-focused, integrated ICT teaching. We provide a high ratio of iPads across all year levels, with classroom iPads available for Kindergarten to Year 2 students and a Bring Your Own iPad program for Years 3-6. Technology plays a vital role in supporting and enhancing students’ education from Kindergarten through Year 6.
